Soccer International between the Rep of Ireland and Brazil by Corporate Communications


Iarnród Éireann wish to advise customers that on Wednesday 6th of February 2008, the following extra services will operate after the Republic of Ireland vs Brazil soccer international at Croke Park.

21.55hrs service from Drumcondra to Maynooth serving all intermediate stations.

22.25hrs service from Drumcondra to Maynooth serving all intermediate stations.

22.15hrs service from Connolly Station to Dundalk serving Portmarnock, Malahide, Donabate, Rush & Lusk, Skerries, Balbriggan, Gormanston, Laytown, Drogheda, Dundalk.

Soccer supporters travelling to Dublin by Intercity for the Soccer International between the Rep of Ireland and Brazil are advised to book their tickets in advance as we expect all train tickets to be sold out before Wednesday.

Despite there being no publicity for this on irish rail website there is (on journey planner) :

23:40 Heuston Cork (Limerick Junct.,charleville,mallow,cork- arr. cork 2:30)

Also connection for Limerick departing Limerick Junction at 01:23

23:25 Heuston Galway (Tullamore, athlone, ballinasloe, athenry, galway- arr. galway 01:55)

Curious that they don't tell us about it isn't it

Clearly someone knows about it.

Cork trains is a Mk3 and there are only 38 seats left in standard and 30 in first, all 7 coaches reserved

Galway also a Mk3 but with only 4 coaches on the reservation system, 60 seats in standard available

They'd Probably be advertised and sold on a local level (ie through stations) would they?

There is a notice in Tullamore station and has been for the last week.
