I can hear the poorly spoken woman saying over the speaker in Donabate that the Enterprise has failed in Skerries and all trains on the Northern Line, northbound and southbound are delayed by one hour.

In an amazing change IE have a notice up

Travel Alerts
northern line disruption by Press Office

Northen line services are experiencing severe disruption

You really do get the feeling they are giving you the finger by providing a notice so useless and vague

Traffic running again. There was a 2600 sat for 10 minutes maybe at around 17.25 - 17.35

Then a very slow Enterprise (about 15-20mph)

Now a light engine just gone past.

They need to bypass Skerries.

:D I'd agree with that

Bit OT, but while they're at it, buy some new trains for the Enterprise anyway...has anyone else noticed that they've failed pretty much every day this week?

Just spotted one of the older orange engines pulling an Enterprise liveried one with the number 230 on it.

Southbound at Donabate 2.15pm

Northern 3-car CAF set did the 16:00 ex Belfast. Absolute disgrace the number of times the Enterprise has broken down recently. Left Belfast at 17:00. Surprisingly, 3 cars was fine, since Dundalk and Drogheda passengers had presumably taken other trains by this stage. Train made record time Portadown-Connolly though - 1 1/2 hours exactly, totally trumping anything else on the timetable. Scary moment though when the driver hadn't expected a red light just north of Drogheda. I've never experienced a driver using the brakes so much the train actually shudders!

Just spotted one of the older orange engines pulling an Enterprise liveried one with the number 230 on it.That one was 14 minutes late into Connolly for the 1435 arrival, I think last Tuesday.
