New Sligo and Maynooth timetable from 21st January by Corporate Communications


Iarnród Éireann has reminded Sligo-Dublin Intercity and Maynooth-Dublin commuter customers that improvements in the daily schedule will take place from next week.

Sligo-Dublin

Just two years after the service increased from three trains each way to five trains each way, one of the fastest growing routes on the network will have eight trains each way daily (Mon-Fri) from 21st January 2008.

Saturday 26th January sees Saturday services increase to seven trains each way daily, and Sunday services will increase to six trains each way daily from Sunday 27th January 2008.

The new weekday schedule includes a new Monday to Friday early bird service departing Sligo at 05.45hrs, and an early evening 16.00hrs service from Dublin to Sligo. Other services will depart on a clockface pattern, from Sligo every two hours from 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs, and from Dublin every two hours from 07.05hrs to 19.05hrs.

Monday to Saturday timetable (from Monday 21st January)

From Dublin: 07.05hrs*, 09.05hrs, 11.05hrs, 13.05hrs, 15.05hrs, 16.00hrs, 17.05hrs, 19.05hrs

From Sligo: 05.45hrs*, 07.00hrs, 09.00hrs, 11.00hrs, 13.00hrs, 15.00hrs, 17.00hrs, 19.00hrs

Sunday timetable (from Sunday 27th January)

From Dublin: 09.05hrs, 13.05hrs, 15.05hrs, 16.00hrs, 17.05hrs, 19.05hrs

From Sligo: 09.00hrs, 11.00hrs, 13.00hrs, 15.00hrs, 17.00hrs, 19.00hrs



Maynooth line

New services on the ever-growing Maynooth line include from Monday 21st January include an 06.38hrs Maynooth-Connolly; 08.10hrs Maynooth-Connolly (non-stop to Drumcondra), and extra evening services at 16.20hrs (from Connolly) and 19.29hrs (from Pearse). Additional Sunday evening services will also operate.

Furthermore, Iarnód Éireann will also operate an additional 07.30hrs service from Connolly Station, serving all stations to Maynooth, and an 08.08hrs non-stop service from Connolly to Maynooth, in response to demand from students and staff at NUI Maynooth.

No mention of the Longford Commuter changes though?

One of the changes being is that the 17:15hrs Connolly Longford will no longer operate on a Saturday meaning no trains to Kilcock or Enfield between 16:00hrs and 18:17hrs on a Saturday.

Also as a result of this the 17:28hrs Connolly Maynooth will run on Saturdays from next week.

Its the New Sligo Earlybird Intercity Service. It will be interesting to see how it works in the busy Morning Peak traffic on the Maynooth line.
