"Irish Rail wish to apologise for the late running of this train. This is because four engines on this heap have failed".

20 minutes late and only made it as far as Pearse. Heap indeed!

I'll be talking to the man in charge of maintaining the 'heap' this afternoon

And I'll have to travel on the heap as well

I was stuck on the one of the Drogheda services behind it. Delayed for about 15 minutes. No a single announcement on the train by either driver, via CTC on the platforms or by station staff in Connolly, Tara st or Pearse street.
I texted George Hook tonight, who had Mr Kenny on. George mentioned the lack of announcements as been one of the most regular complaints his show receives about IE.
Mr Kenny's response. ' we know we have work to do on it'...that's it??? It was the same reply 10 years ago. Millions of European taxpayers euro invested, and IE staff are too lazy too bother telling passengers what's going on
George let's him off way too easy :(

Those 2600's was that the train introuced on the Rosslare Service back in July 2003.

you're probably referring to the 2700s thay are generally on the cork line now. they probably haven't been on the rooslare line much if atall since the "decouple" incident a few years ago.

I see most of the 2600s between Cork and Cobh and between Waterford and Limerick.

To scrap the trains they'd have to scrap a significant amount of the timetable as well. To my knowledge there are 16 2600 carriages.

(Wrong thread Sorry) I boared a 2set commuter that leaves Limerick for the Cork connection at Limerick Jnct. that service is fine and I'm going to say the Limerick-Ballybrophy service is also fine,I dont know as I dont travel on those lines that often. As for the Rosslare-Waterford-Limerick service by reading the related threads it appears that the First and last trains are well served but saying this there is 3trains from Limerick Jnct.-Waterford and 2trains Waterford-Limerick Jnct. and 1 both ways to Rosslare/Waterford. I believe there is going to be a Wexford-Rosslare Strand-Waterford service 1both ways during the next 2years. Travelled to Drogheda today from Gorey via the 06:45 direct service and I'm thankful that we have the newer 29000 versions. The train travels fast enough from Howth Jnct onwards. Very nice and scenic I think its the best Commuter line in Dublin thats just my opinion.........
