As a daily rail user from Newbridge I have noticed that every day this week there has been 3 different cars all vandalised & we are not talking about a slashed tyre here...all the windows smashed !! Can I assume that this form activity will become a thing of the past when IE introduce the planned pay parking to newbridge. When we have to pay to park our cars to use the already over priced ,under reliable train service will it mean that IE will be using the extra revenue to provide a safe secure and patrolled car park....or will this be just another angle to bleed more money from their long suffering customers and push people away from public transport and back into their cars !!!

As the law stands, if you pay for parking, the car park owner is liable for any damage to your car.

But every car park disclaims liability and the courts accept the disclaimers.

I once took on a well known car park operator and won. Won't go into major detail here, but if you pay for a car parking space, you are entitled to expect that your vehicle is protected from theft, damage etc. Disclaimers do not negate due care from a car park operator. On street pay parking is a different matter for different reasons.

Disclaimers are easy to challenge through contract law.
