Once again a stunningly informative notice from IE

DART and Commuter disruption by Corporate Communications

Due to an overhead line fault at Connolly Station. A limited number of northbound service are currently operating. Southbound services are currently starting from Pearse.

What does it mean?

Does it mean services are suspended northside or what? 8 coach DART just went north from Pearse

According to platform display Pearse all DART services are suspended Pearse Connolly

All the way in from Killester (9.28), announcements about DART being delayed due to overhead line problems. No idea how long delay will be. Then: A few trains in front of us, delay, don't know how long. This continued until we were stopping in Connolly (09:54): This train terminates here. Everyone off.

Walked across to Pearse, where I overheard the idiot ticket checker advising someone going to Malahide to get a bus there. "Could I not walk over to Connolly and get a DART from there?". "Oh yeah, sure, if that's what you want". (Uh, yeah, it's way quicker?)
After that I wasn't going to trust him on how long until the next southbound DART, so I got the bus.

TV screens in both Connolly and Pearse showed that trains were running between them.

As far as I can make out there's nothing running south from Connolly or north from Tara

Sorry for double post, as usual AA Roadwatch have slightly more info than IE:

Until further notice southbound DART and commuter services are only running from Pearse St Station.

A limited number of northbound services are running from Connolly Station.

Engineers are working to repair an overhead line fault at Connolly Station. Dublin Bus are honouring all rail tickets until further notice.

When you get off at Connolly, there's no information. Nothing telling you that nothing's running from Tara. I only happened to go to Pearse because it was easier than crossing the road to head for Tara.

Latest info from Derek is a DART is stuck between Tara and Connolly and passengers have been transferred to another train using the wheelchair ramps

If you're dumped off your train in Connolly, and there's no further southbound trains for two hours, is it refund time?

Yes you are

However services seem to be running from Pearse to Bray without too much trouble

So either you do the 15 minute walk to Pearse, (Connolly - Mayor Street - Cross Liffey by new bridge - Westland Row) or walk to O'Connell Street and get the 4,5,7,7a,7e,8,45,63,84,145

Fixed now

Customers are advised that DART and Commuter Services have resumed to normal by Corporate Communications

Friday 10th August 2007 - 13.00

Customers are advised that DART and Commuter Services have resumed to normal

What they mean by normal is open to question

A southbound DART service operated by a original German built set got into trouble and came to a halt opposite Irish Life

Passengers onboard where transfered to a DART on the northbound track by placing the wheelchair ramps between the doors

The Connolly to Tara Street southbound line was closed
