Its hidden and relatively unknown that there are discounted fares Cork Dublin

If you travel on any train departing Cork on or after 9:30am to Dublin and return on any train the same day, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday

Adult Fare €44.00, or with the Luas add on is only €44.50 that compares with €61.00 and €63.40

Forgive me if this is in the wrong section
I thought that an adult upgrade always cost €11.50 e.g Limerick Junction/Dublin
but I see that on certain trains it costs €23. Has it always been like this or is the fluid pricing a new addition to Irish Rail.
Also note that tomorrow morning City Gold seats are all booked on certain
trains.

First upgrade is 11.50
Citygold is 31.00, for the full journey, only applies on 7:00, 8:00 and 17:00 ex Dublin, 6:30, 7:30 and 17:30 ex Cork

Where citygold is offered there are no seats at first class price, its been like this since the mid 1990's

None of the 30 trains between Dublin and Cork are sold out tomorrow

Is it true they're no longer serving meals on CityGold? It kind of makes the extra price rather unjustifiable since it's only really normal first class if that is the case.

Full meals service still applies in Citygold as far as I know, breakfast is definitely served

In fact there is food now in the evening some Cork trains are listed as having a 'Bistro Service' no idea what it is but it sounds so much better than 'Snack Car'
