No notice on the IE site but the following should be noted

Thursday - Normal service except the 16:00 to Sligo and 16:15 to Ballina will run as if it was Friday

Friday/Saturday - Normal Saturday service, note bus transfers after 8pm all trains Heuston, 16:00 to Sligo/16:15 to Ballina cancelled

Monday - Weekday like intercity timetable but Sunday suburban timetable though the usual insult to Kildare line passengers who get nothing

Easter weekend rail services by Corporate Communications

Iarnród Éireann advises customers to check your timetable before travelling on Easter weekend, at www.irishrail.ie or by picking up an Easter weekend timetable leaflet at any station.

A summary of changes follows:

Thursday 5th April:

Normal services operate, with the following additions:

16.00hrs Dublin Connolly-Sligo

16.15hrs Dublin Heuston-Ballina


Good Friday, 6th April:

All Intercity services operate normally, except:

16.00hrs Dublin Connolly-Sligo

16.15hrs Dublin Heuston-Ballina,

which are cancelled.

DART/Commuter:

A normal Friday service will operate on Newbridge/Kildare route.

A Saturday service will operate on Drogheda/Dundalk, Maynooth/Longford and DART routes. Services from Clonsilla to/from Docklands will not operate.


Saturday 7th April:

Easter Sunday, 8th April:

A reduced Sunday service will operate on Intercity. Please check timetables at www.irishrail.ie for details.

Normal Sunday services will operate on DART and Commuter routes.


Easter Monday, 9th April:

A revised weekday timetable operates on Intercity, with a number of changes. Please check timetables at www.irishrail.ie for details.

A Sunday service will operate on DART, Northern and Maynooth commuter routes, with no services operating on Kildare/Newbridge commuter route.

I noticed the Sunday suburban timetable on the Northern line, and that the Enterprise was running a normal weekday timetable (I thought this might have been NIR's doing). This means that the first train out of Drogheda is the 8:20 Enterprise.

While I recognise that demand will be light on Monday, the lack of early morning services is an issue. I know of quite a few people who have to work that day, and there is no train that will get them there in time.

Amen to that. At least today is a public holiday though.
the nineteenth of March was not a public holiday and the first train which according to the sunday timetable runs to tara and pearse and I think to Rosslare, stopped in Connolly and after 7 or 8 minutes, it was announced that this train terminates here.

the nineteenth of March was not a public holiday Yes it was. If a public holiday falls on a weekend, it is the following Monday instead.

No it isn't. Only St Patrick's Day is a public holiday. It is custom to have a day off the monday after a public holiday falling on a weekend day but not the law.

If IE are going to get all bolshy with the law on their customers [andyl] then their customers should get bolshy back at the lies ie tell us.
