So Adamstown opens for business on Tuesday April 10th

It 25 days away but you won't find it anywhere in the online timetable, which is meant to work a minimum of 28 days in advance. No doubt like Docklands none of the staff will know the station code nor will the TVM's work

As of Tuesday April 10th the unofficial extra stops made by some trains in Sallins will be no more

They must move fast. I was in Admastown 2 weeks ago and there was just turned earth where the carpark should be

They had most of it tarmac'd yesterday. Though I presume it'll be a while yet before it has more than 2 lines going through it.

Nope. Just commuter trains.

Additional passengers at peak not catered for and additional impact on the Luas not factored in either.

Better than me have pointed this out at various enquiries. Roll on the 10th and yet more membership of P11.

Although needless to say some trains that don't will end up crawling along behind ones that do.
The 18.05 is gonna be one busy train, it's already stuffed after adding in Hazelhatch this year.

No one cares about the Luas Red Line. The lack of Connolly-Heuston only services at peak is a joke, it messes up commuters going long and short.

Well, the pis is working, had correct departures up yesterday and also that platform 3 was not in operation. All systems go!!!!!!!

So as expected Irish Rail couldn't get it right this morning

1. TVM Heuston has no idea of Adamstown
2. PIS on 29000 had no idea of Adamstown
3. TVM's in Adamstown where blank until 8:10am
4. Platform display forgot about the 7:20 Portloais Heuston
5. No signage within Adamstown to indicate which platform to town
6. No goodies
7. No timetable on display
8. Nothing outside to say this is a station
9. No opening hours displayed (note this station can't function unstaffed)
10. If you head up the central platform staircase you will find it locked, pity a simple notice or a simple rope across the enterance with a no entry sign, would sort it

4, but only 2 have tracks going through them currently

In the above image, 1 is on the left, 2 is the middle, 3 is behind the photographer and 4 is to the right just outside of frame

There is a platform 5 but it hasn't been built yet and may not be needed at all

Well on the opening day of the Maynooth stations in 1990 a bouquet of flowers was presented to the first female passenger.

Something as simple as free monthly ticket for the first 10 passengers would have been a nice touch.

No food either, Docklands had the full spread, goodies and food

it looks nice at least not the eyesore that howth junction is, How come online,it says Intercity,Surburban and railcar serves the station??

Went out today. Its kinda in the middle of nowhere at the moment, the only thing within about 1km is a building site for the primary school, although planning permission is in for the secondary school and for preparation works for the town centre.

The station has a canvas roof similar to Dun Laoghaire, but being on a flat plain is rather windy, both 'indoors' and out.

Spacious concourse. Exit validation (partially in use). Lifts all working. 4 platforms and possibly space for a fifth. Cleaning crew out washing the fences for the official opening next week.

The energy saving facility that turns off the light in the toilets is a little too zealous. Sound insulation not enough when a Mk 3 / 4 goes past at full belt.

Hmm, just as well they left the gate open in case you wanted to go to Kildare but accidentally went to platform 2. Yer screwed if you did it the other way though.

Centre lift indicates platform level is the exit level, which is arguable.

A fire escape and it's locked ? Say it ain't so . . . . please say it ain't so.In their defence (a) not more than 2 customer and 3 staff on the premises at any time (b) if there a fire, just run away (c) not a lot to burn.

Although, to be honest there is the possibility of an ememgency de-boarding, what with bomb scares and the like.

You gotta love the art sculptures on the platforms. Most people call them shelters but I don't think the architects quite grasp the concept. Why do they insist on building these useless pieces of @!#$.

That came up in discussion this morning in the station. Obviously best approach is to stay within the station and head down on the sight of a train

They also have those type of shelters in Maynooth station. People do as Mark says and stay in the station. Then when the train arrives there's a melee as the people getting onto the train are trying to get past those getting off.

It's not that they don't work but it is blindingly obvious how useless they are. Rain doesn't fall straight down in this country.

It's the waste of time and money in constructing them that bothers me the most.

If you think Docklands is quiet Adamstown will make it look busy, more passengers went through Docklands on day one than will go through Adamstown this week
