As some may have noticed there was a werid ESB situation shortly after 18:30

Of course this is a totally bull excuse emergency generators are on standby for this case

IE are liable and refunds apply

Delays to Connolly Station services by Corporate Communications
10th January 2007 - UPDATE 19.15hrs

There are currently delays of up to 25 minutes on all services in the Connolly Station area due to a signalling fault, caused by an ESB power failure.

This includes DART, Northern Commuter and Maynooth Commuter services, as well as the following Intercity services:

19.00hrs Connolly to Sligo

19.00hrs Connolly to Belfast

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.

18.51 E.S.B. power failure Connolly, 83 1/3 failure S&E advised. Delays of 20 mins to northbound and southbound services at Connolly.

The nature of the ESB fault last night seemed to be presented as sudden frequency change that could kill the 83 1/3 rotating machines.

Again of course there should be UPS for this and indeed we should have solid state kit for the track circuit power

Heuston is immune from this type of fault...

Seems to be a consistent pattern of serious problems in Connolly, second fault in the last week. Last time the power went out the system didn't recover
