The National Bus and Railworkers' Union has warned that the ongoing industrial action at Dublin Bus may spread to its sister companies at Bus Éireann and Iarnród Éireann.

So, how great is the risk of this strike spreading to Irish rail, especially with talks going on over pay etc?

The NBRU are always dangling that carrot. IE staff cannot strike because when they have no dispute and any attempt would be shut down in court.

If they all did it together it would do more damage to the union.

Who knows?

If the Irish Rail talks break down ultimately then they too may suffer strike action. But it will be to do with their own issues and not DB/BE.

All three companies are currently either in dispute or in talks about pay and conditions.
