Lineside fire at Skerries.
Limited details. All Nothbound services suspended south of Skerries, and certainly the 17.13 Pearse to Dundalk was brought in on the Southbound platform.
Fire engine had to access the siding at Skerries, so not sure if the fire was beside the Northbound line.
There are massive holes in the fencing between the sidings and the 'ballast pit', so access to the line is never an issue. It's been like that for years.
Assume (given the kids on holidays), it was vandalism.
Northbound trains delayed 15-20 mins, probably only 10 min delays southbound.
Fire engine was leaving at 18.10pm, but strangely there was no burning smell, which was always the case in the past
