The 17.13 Pearse to Dundalk was pulled into the southbound platform at Skerries this evening around 17.50. I got off there, but the train waited on the platform. Not sure why. Nothing on the IE website, or displays, or driver announcements prior to me getting off.
Just wondering did the 16.50 Dublin to Belfast fail, and they were putting on a replacement service, pulling in the Dundalk service to let the Belfast train pass it by? I have seen that happen before. Still would have meant a 40-50 minute delay. But just guessing. Anyone know what actually happened?

Yup. Skerries is on the ever-present scrolly list of banjaxed lifts. Twice this week I've been on a late Northbound train that used the Southbound platform to accommodate a wheelchair user, and hung around for longer than normal for the same reason. Which is nice, but make you wonder how they cope with dead lifts in other locations where using the wrong platform isn't a useful or viable option.

Thanks - had not even thought about that angle. Also my exit door was at the station exit, hence I never spotted any staff/wheelchair ramp.
No announcement from driver though.....
