[22/10/2012] -5pm Enterprise failure

There was a failed Enterprise set sitting on the southbound platform with a locomotive attached to the Driving Car end. This was around 17.40. Blocking southbound Northern suburban trains and DARTs.
Not sure if the 16.50 Connolly to Belfast failed, or this was the 2pm ish Belfast to Dublin? Nothing on the IE website. Any thoughts?

It was the 14.10 Belfast-Dublin service, did you see if it had an EGV on it?

Any does anyone know what operated the 16.50 as it was not an entreprise set. Was it the 22 or 29?

Probably had an EGV, apparently 4 x 2900s substituted for the 1650 - the 1707 Connolly/Balbriggan being cancelled. Service departed at 1656 and followed the 1644 Pearse to Drogheda. Really low end service.

Several disasters on the Cork line also, first arrival from Dublin around 1128. The 0700 from Dublin appears to have failed at/near Limerick Junction. The 1330 from Cork appears to have failed at/near Portlaoise.

IE seem to go through phases of lots of trian failures at once then no failures at all for ages, there has being ICR, Mark 4 and Entreprise failures over the last week or so. Very strange..

Failure yesterday was near Malahide and looked to be loco or push pull issue.

Since the EGV's arrived there has been a modification which makes it a lot easier to tow the train from the DVT end

These 22K substitutions on the Cork line are not on. The first class is rubbish, and unless I'm mistaken there is a premium on first class on that service.

Wouldn't a 22k be a better solution for the first train of the day at this time of year given that they have to be better at dealing with wheel slip thanks to the extra driven wheels.

Count yourself lucky - when we get a substitution on the Sligo line, we get a 29K and we have no first class at all either way.

If you pay citygold fare on the 17:00 and find you end up with a seat the same size as standard you in theory are not entitled to a refund as the seat is 'first class'
