Luas Heuston Stop will be closed AFTER Phoenix Park concerts.

http://www.luas.ie/phoenix-park-concert-goers.htmlConcert Goers, passengers - please note the Luas Heuston Stop will be closed AFTER the concert.

Those intending on travelling on Luas must go to Museum stop. For more information on Museum Stop please click here.

This decision is made on safety grounds. Queuing at Heuston is not possible for such large numbers because the queue will spill over the platform onto the road, which is not closed and onto Seán Heuston Bridge, which needs to be free of persons for pedestrian and tram safety.

Before travelling, check last tram times and allow time to walk from the Phoenix Park to the Luas Museum Stop. Allow also time to queue and travel.

The last tram from the city centre to Tallaght and The Point is:

Monday-Saturday Sunday
00:30am 11:30pm

The last tram serving Citywest/ Saggart:

Monday-Saturday Sunday
Midnight 11:00pm

If it was me, all this safety bull would put me off using the Luas at all. Much easier to jump on a bus and head straight home, than have to walk a fair distance to an obscure transport stop completely inadequate to cope with large numbers of people at any time. :o

It's also a sign of the times, that your last tram to Saggart after a concert, is as it would be on any other night carrying a handful of passengers. The same goes for Tallaght.

Instead of trying to cater for passengers, Luas spends most of it's time trying to put them off. Another "incident" at Kylemore the day after the first concert, with more disruption necessary and apologies required. It all adds up to lots of lost revenue. Again.
