Due to cable theft between Bagnalstown and Carlow. There will be delays to Waterford and Carlow morning services.

Delays to morning Carlow and Waterford services due to vandalism of signal equipement

Due to vandalism between Bagnelstown and Carlow, there has been been damaged caused to the signalling system.

As a result all morning Carlow and Waterford services will experience delays.

Staff will be onsite to endeavour to minimise delays.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for any inconvenience caused.



Services starting to return to normal:
To Heuston
06.00 - 30 minute delay
07.10 - 7 minute delay
07.40 - 17 minute delay

From Heuston
07.20 - 10 minute delay

The 0725 ex Portlaoise made extra stops at Kildare and Newbridge minimising delays to passengers from there who use the 0600 ex Waterford which was itself dealyed 20mins. Good thinking by IE.

It arrive 10 mins early in Heuston at 0823!

Services are current operating with major delays between both ways between Waterford-Heuton due to ongoing singaling problems in Carlow area.

11.00 Waterford-Heuston running 90 minutes late due to signal faults and an operational problem. Now scheduled in Heuston at 14.55.

To Waterford:
11.10 and 13.10 - 45 min delay
15.10 - 50 min delay
16.35 - 40 min delay

From Waterford:
13.00 and 14.50 - 50 min delay
16.50 - 40 min delay

14:30hrs Update

Due to vandalism between Bagnelstown and Carlow, there has been been damage caused to the signalling system.

As a result Carlow and Waterford services are experiencing delays.

Staff are on site to minimise delays and work continues to repair the damage
