I have recently noticed that the timetable for these services has changed on Fridays only. This change is with no notice from Irish Rail and the change is only reflected online. I have let Irish Rail know about the problem and that no notice was given and that it needs be put put back to the normal times or a notice placed on there website about the change. I have used the service on Firdays and it operates as the Mon-Thur & Sat timetable.

13.10 Heuston-Waterford
Depart Athy at 13.57 - not 13.58 on Fridays
Depart Carlow at 14.12 - not 14.13
Depart Muine Beag at 14.24 not 14.25
Arrive Kilkennyy at 14.43 - not 14.42
Depart Kilkenny at 14.46 - not 14.52
Depart Thomastwon at 14.57 - not 15.05
Arrive Waterford at 15.25 - not 15.28

14.50 Waterford-Heuston
Depart Thomastown at 15.14 - not 15.20
Arrive Kilkenny at 15.28 - not 15.33
Depart Kilkenny at 15.35 - not 15.39
Depart Muine Beag at 15.50 - not 15.54
Shcedule retruns to normal from Carlow with the 10 min stop.

Changes are suposed to mean the 13.10 dosn't stop at Ballyhale and the 14.50 does but other days of the week its the other way round.

To be honest the change to the down service really isn't material. The up service should have been advertised though.

Any change must be advertised and clearly not for the first time Irish Rail have hidden this change.

We all remember the Nenagh train which managed to run a different timetable every day for a week and still was never on time.

still isnt..... despite randomly skipping stations.

I recomend that it now leaves at 4.10 am to arrive around 8.00

Mark I now know why the Fridays times were changed. I didn't use that particular service over the last while but I did today. Its now operateing as a 6 car (2-3 cars sets) on Fridays only. In Kilkenny the train splits and front 3 go to Waterford and the other 3 depart at 14.55 as they need to be back in Heuston to operate part of the 18.05 to Portlaoise.

Today it was full leaving Heuston and for some unlucky passengers who had to change in Kilkenny they had to stand for the rest of there journey as it was full.

It now just runs at the normal times but is delayed by 5-7 minutes between Kilkenny and Waterford.

They don't make any attempt to direct south of KK passengers onto the half of the train going to Waterford? Or were these people who got on after Heuston?
