On my way to collect my rail tickets from Galways automated ticket machine an elderly gentleman whilst waiting outside for a bus to Knock airport took a tumble and hit his head very hard causing a seizure and a blackout. I managed some basic first aid and called the ambulance etc etc...
The reason for this thread is the way the guys from Galway station and the team from the cafe assisted me in helping the gentleman and his wife who was in terrible shock.
First they removed all luggage into storage for free until his departure from hospital, offered new tickets for the bus. Rang the airline and managed to get the couple another flight home without charge whenever he was fit to travel. The guys from the cafe offered free drinks and kept the hand towel coming to help stem the flow of blood.
A nice touch to the story was one of the paramedics knew the husbands wife as they went to school together back in the day from their younger days in Balinasloe.
I felt I'd like post this and if any of you wonderful people are reading this. Then thank you. :)
