I imagine a few weeks. If you haven't heard from them in that time, phone them.

They are so inconsistent as to not be able to give any indication

Thanks Guys

I rang them a while back and they said they would let me know via email, it is now over two months since I got the notice, not sure what my chances of success are but the guy that gave me the notice said I had good a good chance.

Think I will call them again, also must point out to them that in their automated response to emails that they have included one too many digits in their tel number

Maybe the wrong number is intentional

That is def heavy handed. It had crossed my mind that it was intentional listing the wrong number. This is the number as listed at the end of the email 01-70322750, if memory serves me right should be only one two in the number. I was trying the above number several times a day with no answer, called IR customer service they couldn't even verify if the number was correct, it was eventually after looking at my penalty notice realised they had the wrong number at the end of the mail.

My mistake was pre purchasing a five day ticket in advance via a promotion in work, thought i could complete the two journeys on any date between those listed on the ticket but that's not the case, i travelled on the first leg of my journey day later than that listed on the ticket, the ticket was validated before boarding the train

That's a tough one. Online and TVM tickets print with "outbound valid on" and "return valid until" dates. If you had a booking office or portable ticket which just says "valid from" and "valid to" you'd probably be able to get off.

For reference the DART RPU number is 01 703 3504
