View Full Version : [01/12/2010] Road-based public transport in Dublin has collapsed
Due to some recent adverse weather, all Dublin Buses have been cancelled and the roads are a mess.
I was on a bus heading into town about 30 minutes ago when this happened.
so is this about to repeat itself?

AA website seems to be down and I'm having problems getting onto Dublin Bus website, takes ages to get onto Irish Rail website but it does eventually load but it's not as informative as other sites (this one included).
If you can get out of work now, start making your way home, I'd say it will be unreal trying to get home tonight. Stay safe everybody.

Aircoach is still running a full service except with no service to Killiney or O'Connell Street, although major delays apply. Dublin airport is shut until 7pm at least.
There will be problems Dublin Bus wise this evening

notice up stating limited service on all routes
so is this about to repeat itself?
http://www.railusers.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=11809&highlight=travel+chaosLooks like it. Trust me folks, for anyone who has not been outdoors in the last few hours: It's bad out there and it's getting worse fast. That snow and slush is now starting to become ice and its making the roads and footpaths quite treacherous. I was caught up in the chaos last year and this is shaping up to be similar.
My advice: get home any way you can and stay there.
Dublin Bus's aren't going anywhere. Aircoach will probably run at least some services. Luas and Irish Rail will be unaffected, or so I would expect. Hopefully the taxis will stay on duty.
