Due to a major signal failure there is a limited train and replacement bus service operating on the Cobh and Midleton lines this morning

Mallow Cork services are operating as normal

Iarnród Éireann apologises for any inconvenience caused

Typical new system goes in and its been no end of trouble

Out of interest, in the event of a signal failure, would it be possible to still provide an hourly service on the Cobh line?

Seeing that the train operating it would have the line to itself, there should be no safety issue.

It assumes the level crossings are staffed using the emergency panels
