International Women’s Day is an international day of celebration held annually on 8th March. Thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. Dublin City Council will celebrate the contribution of women to the civic life of Dublin City with a programme of free events taking place in March 2010.
The Dublin Book Festival has a series of special readings and discussions taking place in City Hall on March 8th, just 5 minutes walk from the Red Line Jervis stop and 10 minutes from the Green Line St. Stephen’s Green stop.
You can join a Historical Walk on Irish Women of War & Peace beginning at Fusiliers Arch beside the Green Line St. Stephen’s Green stop.
Hear about the Women of the Gael in Liberty Hall, close to the Red Line Abbey St. stop, or attend some of the events taking place in the Central Library Illac Centre, near the Jervis Luas stop.
