Was on the 4 o'clock to Sligo yesterday and somebody had place a list of all the food you could get on the train and the price on every table in the carriage I was on.

All I can say it aint cheap

I think not only on Sligo line, on 8.00 ex Cork was the same. :)

Probably catering company tries to increase sales and this is kind of marketing. But some products are getting more expensive. For example, sandwiches were 4.95, now 4.99, full breakfast was 9.95, now 12.99, however tea or coffee included in price this time.

Full breakfast with tea/coffee was €14.50 not long ago, its back to the price it was back in 2005

What kind of stuff did they have on offer? Because for whats on most (all?) Sligo services - trolley vending - isn't worth printing a menu for.

From trolley you can get tea, coffee, sandwiches, muffins, biscuits, pastries etc.

But as far I remember there were chiabattas, burgers, baps from on-board shop on offer, but I am not sure if Sligo train has dining car

No it dosen't. It should. It's the second busiest line in Ireland and all IR can offer is a measly trolley. Mk3s we miss you, come back quick.

Sligo train really only offers tea, coffee sandwichs, choc, sweets, more junk food and drink.

That reminds me - largely off topic, but was heading into London last week for a champions league game, tight for time so no chance for a beer before the match. We decided to splash out and buy one from the trolley on the Gatwick Express. Per 33cl bottle, we paid the horrendous price of ... £2.70.

most of the time it gets sold out before the return journey to Dublin
