Station operators prefer to go for minimal depth seating (to stop people putting / leaving things on the seats, from baggage to bombs) made from perforated steel (to discourage graffitti).

The backless bench would be a safety hazard in a crowd situation or for people with reduced sight.

The bike rank may not suit all bikes locks - the main member is too wide.

The perpetual problem with shelters - the largest side is open to the elements.
