All services without exception have now been suspended across the Dublin subsurban area due to

A main systems failure

There are 3 backups for this neither of which have deployed as of yet, there are two computers only one of which is needed, if both die (unlikely) the main control room fails the local systems can be switched to automatic even with both computer systems dead.

Emergency generators are provided at all signalling rooms for power failures and the local control rooms are independent of the main control room, generators can be started from Connolly if needed. How on earth all these backups can fail at the same time, they can't

Major signalling fault - all DART and Commuter services disrupted by Corporate Communications

10.45hrs Friday 4th August

Due to a major signalling fault across the system, all DART and Commuter services are currently disrupted.

No DART, Northern Commuter or Maynooth Commuter services will operate until local signalling control has been put in place. It is hoped that this can be in place shortly. Dublin Bus will honour rail tickets.

Belfast and Sligo services are also disrupted.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.

Of course the system is still reporting trains as moving
