Delays of up to 15 minutes on services originating from Malahide
I think this was linked to a signal failure at Howth Junction around 08.15am.
Along with the existing service gaps due to the viaduct collapse, there where 30 min gaps at this time to services south of Pearse street. And as you would expect, when the services did arrive, they were packed.
The M1 was also very busy (at 7.30am). A normal 50 minute train journey, took me > 2 hours due to a combination of the above..
Once the displays switched from 'Delay' to next service 25 minutes, I rang Connolly information desk, who advised (and confirmed same with station manager) that Dublin Bus would not accept rail tickets.
Bad day all round!
